Internship experience as a student teacher

My Teaching Experience 

My internship was in St Francis De sales  school in Hebbagodi

First day in school i felt very nervous to face the class as i was assigned to teach simple linear equation to 6th grade, i was totally confused how to go about and so many thoughts came in to mind that how the students will be and whether they will understand what i am going to each and whether they know the prior knowledge about simple linear equation all these things disturbing me but then i was able to overcome all my worries and fear once i started teaching.

As i know that students don't like teacher who simply go start the concepts directly teaching on the board. i used balancing weight which was made by me and chart paper to teach the concepts of simple linear equation and how to solve the problems related to it. The students were very cooperative and listened to me and they like the way i taught them the concepts i felt because of these teaching aids the students were able to understand the concept in a better way.

 Teacher over there gave me a chance to each in 7th grade and the topic was probability, i was well prepared for this class with activities to the students and i used coins,playing card, dice and spinning wheel which was made by me and this teaching aids were very helpful to understand the concept of probability to students. i conducted a coin and dice experiment to derive the formula for probability by the students itself by doing this experiment student came to know how does the probability concept works. when i was studying the teacher taught me same concept by introducing the formula directly on the board so i decided that my students should know the concept clearly and they need to derive the formula by themselves this was achieved in my class i was very happy by looking at the students response they told me they understood the concept well.


The teaching experience was very good and there were lot of substitution work given to me and the classes were lower classes and i felt very difficult to manage those kids but after two days i was able to manage the class by making them to do activity and played math fun games to the kids that how i was able to manage the classes. i was also assigned to work under a teacher for the annual day celebration that was very nice and i gave them practice for tribal dance and the students were from 2nd to 7th grade i was able to manage them also during the practice section.

Last day of our internship we conducted a tea party for the principal, teachers and staffs as a thanks giving to the people who has helped us during our internship and we gave a bookmark as a gift and i wrote the quotes for the teachers. i really enjoyed teaching in school.

during the internship i learned many things as how the school works and how the time table are made and the way teachers organise the assembly and to handle students in classroom and classroom management and time management in teaching and i learned how to conduct math journals and also got a chance to conduct unit test and i also able to delivery the content to the class without any doubt and i was able to clarify students doubts with more confident and my stage fear was also disappeared as days went away.
